More (support) is stronger.

One of the things I really love about Beachbody is the CEO Carl Daikeler's passion for ending the trend of obesity.  Here is a man taking action and spreading fitness any way he can.  I love being able to help others transform their bodies through these programs.  I have a new Focus Group starting in October, so if you're ready I'd love to be your coach and help you stay on track for your own results.  Email jenngibbs@fitfeelsgood.com and even if you're not ready to commit to this quite yet, introduce yourself and let's be fitness friends.  There are programs for every level, so let's talk about where YOU are.  More support is stronger.

Alpha female?

Alpha is the leader of the pack right?  Why then when I'm done with the Lower Focus dvd I can hardly walk back up my stairs?  Still feel the pump when I'm done each time and love it.  It's crazy how you can feel so weak and so empowered at the same time!

We are going strong

Had a great time with the T25 workout up on the wall.  Here are some of those brave enough to sweat it out as a group.

Easier

I love this quote.  Some days I am jazzed and I can't wait to get my workout on.  I love the rush I feel when I'm done and I've sweated and I've pushed myself and used my muscles.

But some days I wait and put on my workout gear, and it's like I'm looking around anticipating that desire to sneak up and attack me.  I'm tying my workout shoes and it's not there yet.  I'm walking to the tv and putting in the dvd and I'm still not just pumped up to go yet.  I push play and I'm still not excited to workout - there's a little letdown like my favorite workout buddy didn't show.  But by then it's too late.  I'm dressed and ready and Shaun T. is telling me to focus and bring my knees up to my waist in a slow jog.  Sigh.  No turning back now.

The key is to keep going.  Keep pushing play if I feel like it or not.  If I saved my workout until later in the day and now my dinner is still sitting in my belly and I have to do the modified version the whole time, the point is that I still do my workout!  Keep the habit regardless.  Some days are better than others and that's ok.  You brush your teeth if you're dog tired right? (please say yes!). It's the same.

So don't worry if you don't love the process yet.  Remember the direction you're headed and slowly you realize that "huh, burpees used to be really hard"...

Ah Mexico...

Well, my hubby and I had a great time in Mexico.  So nice to get away as a couple and enjoy each other.  There doesn't seem to be enough time to do that as a rule.  We were celebrating our anniversary with this trip.  Good in so many ways, but sadly not for eating habits.

We went to an all-inclusive resort and I have to say I'm thankful that there weren't very many good desserts!  For the most part I did pretty good with my choices, but when I went for veggies they were always cooked with oil instead of steamed.  And I had some ice cream which I was doing so good without.  And fresh chips and salsa, and of course Mexicans know how to make great guacamole!  So really it was more about portion control if I'm being honest...

Bottom line, it didn't take long to put back on a couple of pounds I'd worked so hard for.  But the real damage was done a few days before and 2-3 weeks after the trip!  I felt like I lost my momentum and was out of my good habits.  I was feeling fat again (yes, don't laugh!), and disappointed in myself for that and in a little bit of a funk.

The good news is I'm a health and fitness coach, so instead of spiraling for a long time, I'm part of a network of fellow coaches that put me back on track pretty quickly.  Thank you!!  I also support others in their weight loss journey and being a hypocrite doesn't sit well with me, so I had to jump back on board.  It didn't happen overnight, but now I'm in a good place again and ready to move forward.  That's how life goes right?  Two steps forward, one step back sometimes.  So today, Labor Day and September 1, I recommit.  I started Day 1, Week 1 of T25 again.  I will redo before pictures and this time I go 10 weeks straight.  Sorry if you were hanging on with baited breathe for my Beta phase posts.  Now they will be legit and twice a week instead of daily so I can allow myself success in that area too.  So come on my journey (again!).  Life keeps going and so will I!  If you'd like to talk about your own fitness program, or get T25 with bonus dvds and a support group just contact me at jenngibbs@fitfeelsgood.com   See you soon!

5 Weeks of T25 Alpha Results

Well here you go - the results are in.  After just 5 weeks on the T25 program this is what I look like.  I would grade myself a "B" on food choices, so pretty good but not exactly according to the nutrition program.  It's a difference of just about five pounds down in the end, but that's significant when you're talking about those last few pounds that are so tough to budge.  So I am pleased with the results.  And if  I can just take the momentum and good habits into the next 5 weeks I'll be set!  Feeling great and ready for a beach getaway to Mexico!
